Pathways Development Committee

We are a group of medical students at the UC Berkeley-UCSF Joint Medical Program (JMP) dedicated to strengthening pathway connections across the lengthy pre-medical preparation and medical school application timeline for students who are underrepresented in medicine (URM). To achieve this goal, we host a series of events focused on supporting URM premedical students, including workshops, our 1:1 mentorship program, advocacy efforts, and more!

Finance Committee

We are the committee responsible for processing and managing purchase requests within the organization and ensuring spending is consistent within guidelines! We also oversee scholarship donations during each Spring semester for UC Berkeley undergraduate students pursuing medicine.

Community Partnerships Committee

The Community Partnership Committee collaborates with orgs at UC Berkeley, UCSF, and the broader Bay Area. Participation involves supporting & volunteering at monthly community events (like Freedom Community Clinic Summit) and facilitating clinical engagement opportunities for URiM pre-health students UC Berkeley. It also maintains a community calendar with ongoing advocacy events around the Bay to plug into.

Admin Committee

Admin runs the internal operations of WC4BL. This includes leading meetings, monitoring the email and social media, and any other administrative/internal items that need to be completed. If you have any questions or needs from WC4BL, feel free to reach out to our admin team! We also have an intern position for one UC Berkeley undergraduate student to work alongside us and continue to help us further the mission of WC4BL!

DREAM Committee

The DREAM Health Collaborative consists of a partnership between WC4BL members and the Dream Youth Clinic (funded by Gilead Pharmaceuticals) in Oakland to provide racially-concordant mentorship between Black Oakland youth students and WC4BL members to facilitate interest in healthcare careers. We provide mentorship, put on monthly events, and a summer intensive healthcare training for DREAM youth members, facilitated by us students.
